The Blues were defeated 2-0 by Everton on Sunday, just days after they were handed a 2-1 beating at Old Trafford by Manchester United.

The results effectively ensured that Chelsea slipped down to 12th on the Premier League table, with the distance between them and the top four now extended to 14 points.

Chelsea have also won just one of their last five matches, leaving Mauricio Pochettino under massive pressure.

The players are also under pressure themselves as evidenced by Silva’s message to the fans via ‘X’ after the loss at Goodison Park, despite the 39-year-old not playing the game.

His message on the platform read: “We are aware that the recent results have not been good, and we are the first ones disappointed by it. No excuses, just need to keep working to see the Chelsea we all want again. It’s time to be united and overcome this situation together. See you on Saturday! @ChelseaFC.”

Chelsea will now prepare to take on bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United this Saturday, and hope they can get back to winning ways at Stamford Bridge.
