Chelsea 4 man targets for Summer transfer leaks, which will cost the club huge sum of money

Chelsea did not make any transfers in January despite Thomas Tuchel demanding new arrivals and the summer window is already being eyed for recruitments with some big targets

Chelsea have already drawn up their four-man transfer wish-list ahead of the summer transfer window opening – and it could end up being quite the spending spree.

That is despite the fact the transfer window just closed after the end of January where the Blues defied Thomas Tuchel.

There were absolutely no signings for the German to utilise despite the coach asking for reinforcements.

After injuries and Covid tore through the squad, Chelsea won just three Premier League matches in 11 throughout the festive period that has all but ended their title charge.

But the only transfer being pursued was that of Emerson Palmieri – their own player – who they failed to land.

However, while there were disappointments in January, the summer is on the horizon and with it plenty of intrigue.

The Blues have pinpointed their top four targets at the end of the season but they will not come cheap.

According to The Athletic, they have identified Declan Rice, Aurelien Tchouameni, Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele on their shortlist.

That could set Chelsea back millions with West Ham pricing Rice at £100m alone – and after a sensational season it is unlikely they will budge.

Especially with so much interest in the Englishman’s services with Manchester United and Manchester City also keen on his services.

Monaco ace Tchouameni could see his valuation skyrocket as well after being linked with Real Madrid while Sevilla have a release clause on Kounde worth £68m.

In terms of transfer fees, Dembele could be the cheapest as his contract at Barcelona expires at the end of the season.

But penning the Frenchman to a deal at Stamford Bridge might depend on forking out a huge sum on his signing-on fee – which is very common among free agents.

With those four arrivals, that would easily see Chelsea splash out over £200m which would take their spending to over half a billion in three years after other prominent signings such as Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner in that time.

The west London side have hardly got value for money yet, though, with just 18 Premier League goals between them.
