Mason Mount reacts as Chelsea coaching crew depart Stamford Bridge

Joe Edwards, Chelsea’s assistant coach, has joined Frank Lampard’s coaching team at Everton, the club announced on Monday. Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea manager, was named Everton’s next manager on Monday.

“Thank you for all you’ve done for me and the club, Joe,” Chelsea player Mason Mount said on Instagram in response to Edwards’ departure. From the academy to the first squad, you had a huge effect on my growth. Not just as a coach, but as a person, you will be much missed! “Wishing you the best of luck in your new endeavor, mate.”

Edwards’ job at Chelsea will not be filled for the time being, according to the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has disclosed that Mason Mount was disgruntled to be benched during Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Tuchel instead went with a forward three of Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku, and Christian Pulisic, claiming Mount gave him ‘scorching eyes’ after he was sidelined against Manchester City.

“I get them (mountain’s burning eyes), and this is quite natural,” Tuchel stated.

“I recognize the eyes and the expression. Of course, I’m familiar with that look. He came to play these kind of games, but we chose runners.”
