Chelsea are in talk to complete a world class player transfer deal this summer
Edouard Mendy’s representatives are said to be in talks with Chelsea over a new contract for the goalkeeper.
Mendy moved to Chelsea back in the summer of 2020 after club legend Petr Cech recommended him to the Board
And since that move – Mendy has established himself as one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge and one of the very best goalkeepers in world football
Mendy still has three years to run on his current deal after penning a five-year contract when joining the club – but he has been so impressive – the club are keen to make sure that he is signed up to fresh terms
And Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reports that negotiations have begun, but there is a ‘gap’ between the Senegal stopper’s demands and what the club are offering.

The news that Chelsea are now in talks to sign up one of the clubs biggest and best players will come as great news for the fans – he really is one of the most loved players at Stamford Bridge
He has been brilliant for the club over the past few seasons and fully deserves a new contract
But the club do not want to get in a dispute with the player as that will lead to issues on the pitch – as we said – he is the number one at the club and they dont want to see him get distracted if contract talks run on too long
Chelsea do have time to get a deal done – but surely they would want it over with quickly and Mendy all signed up to a new deal?
