Chelsea already have a personal terms deal with Benfica star Enzo Fernandez, according to claims from South America.

Argentine journalist Gaston Edul writes that the Blues and the player have reached a ‘contractual agreement’ regarding his move to Stamford Bridge.

The story claims that Fernandez’s entourage is now waiting for Chelsea and Benfica to find common-ground regarding the payment method.

It’s pointed out the sale will be worth around €120m, with €30m going to the midfielder’s former club River Plate.

According to Edul, this business ‘has to be sorted in the coming hours’.

As previously reported by different outlets, Chelsea have no way of paying the full amount in a single instalment because of Financial Fair Play, and now look for a solution with Benfica to split the release clause price.

Earlier on Monday, it was claimed that the Blues’ idea was to pay 25% of the price now and divide the rest in two or three instalments, despite Benfica’s insistence on receiving the amount in full.

With Chelsea afraid of the competition for the signing, it’s no surprise to see them rushing for an agreement.
