Juventus in serious negotiations with Chelsea on Kai Havertz swap deal

According to reports, Juventus and Chelsea are evaluating the possibility of a direct swap involving star forwards Dusan Vlahovic and Kai Havertz.

Havertz, 23 years old, has established himself as a regular starter at Stamford Bridge since his £71 million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020. Up to this point, he has helped his current club win three trophies.

In contrast, Vlahovic has established himself as one of the top strikers in Serie A over the past two seasons. After scoring 49 goals in 108 games for Fiorentina, he moved to Juventus for £66 million in January of last year. However, rumors have recently circulated that he will leave the Allianz Stadium due to the Bianconeri’s struggles this season.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, Chelsea is interested in signing Vlahovic, while Juventus has set a price tag of £89 million. However, both clubs have also explored the possibility of including Havertz in a direct trade in the near future.

Recent lackluster performances by Havertz, who is under contract with the Blues until June 2026, have prompted rumors of his departure. In 118 appearances, he has recorded 29 goals and 15 assists for Chelsea.

Due to his high scoring rate, Vlahovic is regarded as a better offensive option than Havertz. Despite being sidelined with a groin injury since October of last year, the towering Serb has scored one more goal in nine fewer games than the Germany international with 33 caps.

During the current winter transfer window, the Blues have acquired five new players. In addition to Joao Felix’s loan, the club has spent over £145 million on Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos.
