REPORTS: Chelsea willing to offload 23-year-old defender next summer after disappointing form

Without much doubts, Chelsea football club will most definitely aim towards offloading several first-team players after the ongoing 2022/2023 football season is over.

Do remember that the West London club have endured a very miserable 2022/2023 campaign so far and are currently occupying the 11th position on the Premier League table.

The Stamford Bridge side are also on course to end the 2022/2023 season without any trophies as they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Due to this poor run of form, Chelsea will look to reshuffle their squad and if reports are anything to go by, then young right-back Reece James is in line to leave the club next summer.

The 23-year-old England International, who gained promotion to the Chelsea first-team squad back in 2019 has been an important member of the team in recent seasons.

The young right-back has been quite influential for Chelsea football club so far this 2022/2023 football season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

His performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Real Madrid and according to reports from The Sun, the LaLiga giants are keen on signing him.

The reports further claimed that Real Madrid are really interested in Reece James and are now preparing a big money offer to lure the young defender away from Chelsea next summer.

It is believed that Chelsea football club want to further strengthen their defensive options and are now anticipating the arrival of Malo Gusto from Olympique Lyon in the summer.

But then, it remains to be seen if Chelsea football club will deem it fit to reach an agreement with Real Madrid and cash in on Reece James when the transfer window opens.
