Mauricio Pochettino finally reveals Chelsea next number 9 holder, to be sign this summer

Mauricio Pochettino has a task to solve Chelsea’s goal scoring woes and appears to have turned to Victor Osimhen to help Chelsea’s campaign has regularly shown where the side are failing so far as a high player turnover and change on and off the field have made for a tough environment. After a campaign that’ll see the Blues finish mid-table in the Premier League, the next appointment of a head coach from Boehly-Clearlake has to be the right one.

According to football.london a deal has been agreed with Mauricio Pochettino to become the next manager, taking over from Frank Lampard’s interim duties. The former midfielder will likely have plenty of wisdom from the squad he can impart to the arriving boss, with goal scoring becoming one clear and obvious issue.

“Work on the training pitch,” Lampard said was the key to turning things around in the final third. “When I consider the work that we do, we work a lot in the last third, in terms of finishing and crosses, and the idea of how we want to get in the box. The last bit is sometimes confidence. Whether it’s an individual thing or team confidence. I think I’d come back to the work side of it. If you work and keep going, something can change.”

Luckily for Pochettino, it appears as though he’ll have a full pre-season at his disposal, with a lot less disruption than the previous one caused. While the work on the training pitch may help, the desire to find a player proven of finding the back of the net is something that only money can buy.

According to Sky Germany, Chelsea may attempt to do just that as the Blues are said to have made Napoli star Victor Osimhen their top priority. A £130million price tag has been put on the Nigerian international after a campaign that saw him score 28 goals in Serie A and the Champions League.

Napoli are adamant Osimhen will not be leaving the club this summer, whatever the offer, a source has told football.london, but Chelsea are not being put off by the club’s stubborn stance. It would be an expensive transfer after a huge outlay in the previous two windows and the lack of Champions League football may be an issue, too.

However, Pochettino’s project may need a striker who will find the back of the net regularly to help secure any success in the coming season.
