Chelsea eye move for Veiga

Chelsea are likely to make a move for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabriel Veiga if Mason Mount joins Manchester United according to The Evening Standard. The Blues have discussed this internally about Veiga and will trigger his £34.6m release clause if Manchester United manage to rope in Mount.

Arsenal £41m Timber talks ongoing

Arsenal remain in talks with Ajax over a £41m deal for defender Jurrien Timber after striking a £105m agreement with West Ham for Declan Rice. The Gunners are understood to have submitted their second formal proposal for the centre-back on Monday and discussions are advanced between the two clubs. Fabrizio Romano remains confident a deal will be struck as Arsenal close in on both Declan Rice and Timber after landing Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.

Manchester United have made contact with Brighton over midfielder Moises Caicedo ahead of launching a formal bid. Sky Sports claim both Caicedo and Mason Mount are of interest, though it remains to be seen if interest in the Seagulls star is in favour of a move for the England international. United have been told by Chelsea to pay £65millon for Mount, though Caicedo is not expected to cost any less. Arsenal had a £70m bid for Caicedo rejected in January, and the club have since lost fellow midfielder Alex Mac Allister so are in no need to sell again.

Man Utd still haven’t made final decision on De Gea future

Manchester United have still not made a final decision on the future of David de Gea, according to the Manchester Evening News. The Spaniard’s is out of contract in under 40 hours with a new deal at Old Trafford yet to be signed off. The 32-year-old was named on United’s released list.

It is understood “discussions remain open” as both the club and De Gea consider their options.
